Mel from Edinburgh asked

3 week itinerary planning help for South America?

My husband and I are looking to do 3 weeks in January, and after doing some research, are totally overwhelmed by information and options!

Ideally we would like to do the 'A, B, C' route but are open to suggestions and ideas, but think we may need to drop Chile due to time and logistics.

We would like a mix of culture and relaxing, and only must-sees at the moment are Iguazu Falls, Christ the Redeemer and maybe the Amazon.

Some information that might help with recommendations:

late 20's, just us two travelling, and we would like to do it as cheaply as possible (ie hostels with private rooms are fine), but not at the expense of the overall experience.

Thanks in advance for any tips or itinerary options! :)

I agree with Benny about the Iguazu Falls and that same hostel! On the other side of the falls in Brazil, spend time in Paraná Take the train ride in Curitiba Further south in Argentina, Mendoza is worth visiting, as you'll be there in the summer - you might miss out on the skiing, but the red meat and Malbec is plentiful there!

Make time to visit Parque Provincial Ischigualasto - Valle de la Luna and the Perito Moreno Glacier. A great hostel to stay close to Iguazú Falls is Iguazu Falls Hostel. It's not much but its perfect for visiting the falls. Right next to the bus station and cheap
