I am going to South Africa for my honeymoon in October 2017.
We are climbing Mt. Kili first, then heading to Kruger NP for a safari (staying at Cheetah Paw Lodge).
Right now the last week we are hoping to fly from Kruger to Cape Town, rent a car and drive up to Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve for 3 days OR something else SUPER unique (ex. Tenquia Treetops, etc). Finally after whichever we choose, our last 3 days will be in Cape Town before flying home.
Would love people's input on a very unique (think cave, tree houses, giraffe sanctuary, etc) where we can stay before we end off in Cape Town - within drivings distance or a cheap/short flight from Kruger or Cape Town.
Has anyone stayed at Kagga Kamma or Teniqua Treetops?
OR should I spend a week+ in Cape Town or along the Garden Route? If we do this we need to stay at a unique venue - any recommendations for this?
Thanks so much!
Suggestion, why dont you fly from JHB to Port Elizabeth and get some really awesome "out of the way" options to make your honeymoon even more special?
Please have a look at Moon Shine on Whiskey Creek which is lesser known but absolutely awesome. Other options includes Cliffhanger Cottages just outside Knysna, or even closer to Cape Town would be Kolkol Mountain Lodge.
Above options really have something unique to offer but do not charge an arm and a leg like the "better known" places does.
