My husband and I are touring a few cities in Spain in a couple of weeks for our honeymoon, and we'll be spending a few days in Seville. Looking for any recommendations for great local places to eat and a place to maybe catch an authentic (i.e. less touristy) flamenco show?
One of my top ten travel experiences was the local flamenco show at La Anselma in Triana. Anselma herself opens the door exactly at midnight, and everyone takes chairs in a buzz of anticipation. Music and dancing fills the room, amidst shouts of "OLÉ!" At around 3 am, all the lights are turned off, except for an illuminated figurine of the Virgin Mary, and Anselma sings a moving rendition of "Avé Maria." Truly memorable.
