Outdoor Activities in the Pacific Northwest

Where should an insider start their search for fishing/hiking/camping in the Pacific Northwest region? I'd like to start in Seattle or Portland and go from there. This would be for about a week long vacation in the spring.

Checkout the rain forest in Olympic National Forest its so cool you feel like a dinosaur could be standing there next to you.  After that you can head down to the beach and explore the tidal flats.  Its pretty amazing the amount of sea creatures you find when the tide goes out.

One of my favorite places to visit is Shaw Island -- take the ferry across from Anacortes and then camp at Shaw County Park. The weather is usually better here in the spring than somewhere in the rain shadow.

Hiking is awesome in Washington state. Snoqualmie Mountain and Mount Rainier have mant great hikes. Mount Si is beautiful and you can look online to help you find great hikes.
