My boyfriend and I (young professionals from Boston) will be spending a week in/around Seattle the second week in November. We have both spent some time in the city and done all the main tourist stops. We are laid back, adventurous & outdoorsy (climbing, hiking, biking), beer-lovers who are always open to try new things. Does anyone have recommendations for 1) outdoor adventures in the area doable in November 2) unique/local/fun things to do or 3) best areas in or outside of the city to stay?
We haven't booked accommodation yet but will probably look at Airbnb. Will have a car so willing to drive within a few hours outside the city. I know the weather might be iffy, so any creative suggestions of ways to keep occupied are welcome!
Our last trip there we stayed at Hotel Five and it was awesome. We could walk to pretty much anywhere in the center city and it was close to the stop for the train to the airport as well so we didn't need to take any cabs. We were there first week of December and it was freezing, and we're Canadian so that's saying a lot - bring some warm clothes! A place we really enjoyed was The 5 Spot in Queen Anne, they have great brunch. It's is purely coincidence that both places we loved have 5 in their names!
Nothing like a wet November mosey meander up the Dosewallips River as far as time takes you. (Ferry to Bainbridge Island then drive 1 hour to the Dose trailhead) Dry off at Bainbridge Island Brewing on your return. I enjoy the Mayflower Park Hotel Seattle Many great Airbnb's on Bainbridge Island and in Seattle...
