I'll be visiting a friend in Queen Ann, East Queen Ann specifically, with my wife and two small kids in tow. We were graciously invited to stay with my friend's family, but with a sizable party, I would feel more comfortable just getting a hotel room for everyone's comfort. Any recommendations?
Pan Pacific Seattle is a solid family/business hotel in the
South Lake Union neighborhood... walking distance to lots of stuff, great food, streetcar, downtown, parks, etc. Not far from Queen Anne.
By the way, go to the Pacific Science Center. Your kids will dig this... also, there is an IMAX theater there that is often showing cool nature films, etc. Also go to the Pike Place Market, your kids will love when these guys throw fish around....

These aren't exactly in the Queen Anne District, but they're close and pretty nice:

Unfortunately, East Queen Ann doesn't have very good hotel options as it's more of a residential neighborhood. There are a couple motels up by highway 99, but I wouldn't recommend them to a family with children. Your best bet is to stay in Lower Queen Ann, closer to Belltown and Downtown.
The best two hotels in Lower Queen Ann are The Maxwell Hotel (free coffee and pineapple cupcakes in the lobby!) and MarQueen Hotel. Both hotels are beautiful and located centrally so when you're not visiting with your friend, you can easily take your family out for a stroll to the Space Needle and the Pike Place Market. These are probably the nicest and closest places that you can stay to East Queen Ann. Consider the proximity to all those other attractions a bonus!
