How much time do you have? Are you wanting things to do along the way or just nice scenery to pass through?
Go north on I-17 to Sedona (unless you've already been there) and spend a few days. If you live in Arizona, this is a must-visit place. Drive through Oak Creek Canyon to Flagstaff, then take 89 north to Tuba City. Along the way you can stop at Sunset Crater National MonumentWupatki National Monument and the Moenkopi Dinosaur Tracks.
Go northeast to Kayenta, then take Hwy 163 through Monument Valley. Plan your Instagram pics here!
You can skip Four Corners, but DO stop at Mesa Verde National Park in southwest Colorado.
Drive east to Durango, then north through SilvertonOuray and Montrose. If time allows, explore Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in this area.
Take 50 east to 285, then north to Leadville. This is gorgeous Rocky Mountain country here. You can make a side trip to Aspen if you have time.
You'll connect with I-70 east of Vail which you can take east to Denver.
Enjoy the journey!
