Heading to Brazil this summer (June-late July) and going to be spending a majority of my time in Sao Paulo! What are fun things going on this summer? I love getting the local experience so I'm looking for things to do that the locals love (restaurants, activites, places to go out)
The longer you stay in Sao Paulo, the better it gets. It is a city that you learn to deal with, more than any other place that I visited.
There is a lot to do and in the weekends traffic is not that bad. You can get to most area's that matter within a 30 min car drive.
As its a food city, you can go wild on exploring loads of restaurants. Dont skip the food truck parks (Butantan Food Park( rua agostinha cantu 47, butanta) and the one on Augusta), Peixaria Bar e Restaurante, Brazza Pizzaria and the fantastic Lanchonetes Flor da Vinte e Cinco
This museum is still open (temp exposition):
Nightlife: plenty of clubs and good bars for all kinds of crowds. Festivals also, but websites dont help much. People will tell you a day in advance that something cool is going to happen that weekend ;-)
I just joined this site, not sure if you can message me. But more than willing to help further.

Sorry, but July is our winter....
Don't forget that summer in the US means winter in South America. So June/July is their coldest months. That being said, it's never really that cold, but you'll want to pack clothes to layer in, especially in the evenings. Sao Paulo is a huge city with a lot of neighborhoods to explore which is worth looking into a quick guide book for some key stops to see. There isn't a ton of tourist activity in SP, but as with any city there are small gems of restaurants and shopping to look into. Brazil in general is a big party country. If you like to dance, there are plenty of places to get your groove on! High heels are a must if you're going to Samba with the best of them :) Have fun!
