Samba music in Sao Paulo?

Where are the best places for a group to listen and dance to Samba music in Sao Paulo?  Not too picky about the atmosphere so long as it's safe and the music is good!

When are you coming to Sao Paulo? If you are coming before Carnival, an good idea would be attending a Samba School rehearsal. There are many in the city but I particularly like Perola Negra (http://gresperolanegra.com.br/agenda/) and Rosas de Ouro (http://www.sociedaderosasdeouro.com.br/carnaval/ensaios/)

As Maria Silva said there are many bars in Vila Madalena that plays samba too.

Let me know if you need any help.

Mira, I suggest you go to Vila Madalena. Any bar there is good to dance and enjoy a good samba music.

Vila Madalena has many bars were you can sit and listen to old school brazilian samba. You should try Barnaldo Lucrécia ;)

Hubby (who is from Sao Paulo!) says there is a club in Vila Madalena called O do Borogodo that's apparently great.

Also, there's a street called R. Aspicuelta that has a lot of bars (cool for young professionals) and samba. Hope that helps! :)
