Favorite activities in Atacama Desert, Chile?

My wife and I will be in Chile for two weeks and will be spending four nights, and most of four days, in San Pedro de Atacama.  Any Trippy members been and, if so, what were your favorite activities?  We are renting our own car out of Calama, as we do not want to be tied into organized tours.  Any advice on favorite sites is greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

I can second the Laguna Cejar and Valle de la Luna recommendations. We skipped the geysers while we were there because we were going from Atacama to Uyuni Salt Flat and would be seeing geysers along the way. One thing that I would do if I had a car would be to drive out away from the town at night to take in the stars. The skies at night (and during the day, and at sunset...) are spectacular. Apparently the geysers and lagos altiplanicas are not very well marked so its a little hard to find your way on your own, and it is really high elevation so make sure your well prepared!

My girlfriend and I have a travel podcast and we did an episode on Atacama and then our trip from there to Potosi if your interested in hearing more:

You must visit the Geisers del tatio, The Valle de la Luna and Laguna Cejar. Its a good idea renting a car.
