I will be staying at the One & Only in a couple of weeks and since it will be my first time in Los Cabos I would like to have some recommendations for good restaurants (mexican food but also other types of restaurants) in the area. I was also wondering whether the restaurants in the resort are good?
First off, the One & Only Palmilla is incredible and the restaurants are great, but if you want to get out and about...
in Cabo San Lucas itself, if you want traditional Mexican food, Mi Casa a good choice. Edith's is a high end Mexican place with one of the best caesar salad's you'll ever have. If you get out during the day, the classic beach restaurant in Cabo The Office which can get rowdy during the day at times, but is the classic Cabo experience. From the office you can have a meal then hire a water taxi to head over to Lover's Beach or into the marina for a look around town.
In the old days there used to be some great fish taco stands/budget restaurants that were very inexpensive and tasty, but unfortunately, most of those are gone but a couple of places that server very traditional Mexican food with a seafood focus are Mariscos Mazatlan and Mariscos El Torito (a real local place with great food).
El Farallon has an incredible setting on a cliff at Capella Pedregal. The Capella is one of the best hotels in Cabo and while this is not budget friendly, its an amazing place.
Flora's Field Kitchen at Flora Farm is a totally interesting and unique place. It is an organic farm, near an oasis in the desert. A true farm to table experience in the middle of the Mexican desert. Very strange, interesting and awesome.

Bar none, the best shrimp and fish tacos are at Tacos Gardenias. Family owned, run by the ladies.
Mi Cocina in the Hotel Casa Natalia makes the best pork chop I’ve ever had in my life. Very straight-forward food like burgers and steaks. This place is one of my favorites both for the food and the ambiance—beautiful outdoor setting. Just a great atmosphere all around. If you want something a little more adventurous try the Nick-San which is basically Mexican sushi. I know it sounds weird but it’s actually really good. For more of a local spot, I would try Mariscos El Torito. It’s really informal but the food is really good. I ordered a fish dish that was suggested to me and they served it right in the foil it was cooked in. SO delicious. If I’m remembering right, this is all or mostly seafood.
