Things to do off the beaten path?

Hi all! I'll do some searching around the site (it's been AGES since I've been on - sorry!) but I'll be in San Francisco in late March. My husband and I have been a bunch. What are your favorite more local things to do in town?

First of all you should join the SF Trippy Meetup group. We just had our first group outing to Laszlo and it was super fun! Here's the group pic.

Maybe when you and your husband come to town you guys can attend one of our future Meetups!

If you want to do some of the off the beaten path activities in San Francisco, you should also join my Meetup group SF Urban Adventure Club. We host events each week that centers around some of the more unique and interesting experiences in San Francisco.

Some examples of our events:

And many more!

Here's a pic of our most recent Real Escape Game played at AT&T Park where we got to run around the baseball field solving puzzles with over 2,000 other people!

Hope you can join us on one of our upcoming adventures. It will be a great way to see San Francisco like you've never seen it before.

Off the beaten path and local?  I'd suggest making the short trek to South San Francisco...probably my favorite overlooked food neighborhood.  It's home to my favorite location of Taquerias El Farolito (Get a Torta), as well as great Jamaican at Flavas Jamaican Grill -, Chinese dumplings Dumpling Empire , A better old school diner, Ed's Diner than most in SF, Brazilian risoles Cafe Di Casaand the best liquor/cocktail store outside of SF Bitters + Bottles.  All except the Brazilian spot are within a block or two of each other.  Also, If you want to get even deeper into the area, go just a bit further to Lucky Chances a casino that serves solid Filipino fare 24/7.

Non food related, probably my favorite thing to do is just to explore the Presidio on foot, been doing it for years and still find new things each time...everything from Yoda to Goldsworthy, active archeological digs, hidden picnic spots, and plenty of views.

Feel free to holler with your own personal interests and I might think of more specific recommendations for you.
