There are outlet malls in areas around SF but remember, SF is a small sized town with no "mall" space.  You might think instead about visiting the small boutique stores that are in abundance, say,for instance, in Cow Hollow.  You will find those more interesting and fun than shopping in an outlet mall where everything is just a repeat of the usual (and often seconds or "made for outlet mall only" items.  Plus, you get to wander the streets of SF, which alone is worth the trip.

The Westfield San Francisco Centre is on 4th and Market. It is not an outlet mall, but it is across the street from Nordstrom San Francisco Centre, which is the outlet for Nordstrom. There is also a Ross Dress for Less nearby.
The big outlet malls are in GilroyVacaville, and Livermore . They are very popular with visitors and you might be able to find a tour going there.
I have been surprised that many visitors insist on a trip to the outlet mall. Macys nd all the stores at Union Square like Uniqlo San Francisco Union SqH&MBanana Republic have very good deals. But for a true outlet experience you must visit a mall outside SF.
