Hello!
We are novice RV enthusiasts looking to explore. We live in San Diego, and my husband and I really want to travel to visit family and friends and sights unseen.
We are hoping to start in San Diego, and head to Palm Springs. From there, we want to visit Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and eventually end up in Bend, OR. I feel like the first part (the southern CA portion) is pretty cut and dry, but any awesome camp sites or helpful hints as far as attractions, etc. are most welcome. I'm more concerned about everything North of Yosemite up to Bend. I'm unfamiliar with that portion of northern CA and southern OR, so I'm looking for help to plan our itinerary.
We are also considering taking the coastal route on the way from Bend back to SD (we love camping at the beach!) but again are unfamiliar with the area.
We love cool, funky towns, great local food and drink, interesting tourist attractions, family friendly fun, unique experiences, and of course being outdoors.
We prefer places with nicer accommodations and hook ups, but are also trying to keep to a budget. We enjoy hiking, swimming, exploring, tasty food, wine/beer tasting, and beautiful views.
We are a family of 6 (Parents 37 & 35, kids are 3, 5, 7 & 9), so any kid friendly spots or helpful hints along the way would be great. They are also very active kids, so will need frequent stops along out trip to get their wiggles out. We are really hoping to make this a memorable family trip for all of us.
TIA for all your help!
Happy Exploring!
