Traveling with my son over Spring Break to San Diego.  Would like some advice on some cool & interesting things to do with him.  Yes, the Zoo is awesome and I'm also looking for hiking trails or unique experiences.  Thanks

San Diego has great beaches.  Coronado, Point Loma, La Jollaand Pacific Beach are the best.  The Padres also have a great ballpark at Petco Park (if you go to a day game sit on the 3rd base side or you'll get fried).  Mission Bay is a great place for jet-skiing or sailing.  Palomar Mountain makes for great hiking, although it's a good hour and a half from town.

  1. Coronado (attraction)
  2. Point Loma (attraction)
  3. La Jolla (city)
  4. Pacific Beach (neighborhood)

Torrey Pines State Beach is a great place to hike on the coast.  You can end up at the Torrey Pines Gliderport and try out paragliding or just watch.  The Wavehouse in Mission beach is a really fun place and Belmont Park next door had a rollercoaster and a lot of other great attractions.
