Where are the best areas, streets, or malls in San Diego to do a little shopping? I'm going to be with my mom and sister so of course we need a shopping day. We'd love a good mix of local boutiques (any favorites?!) to larger department stores. Thanks!
Fashion Valley Mall is the best mall we have in San Diego. However if you like to shop for antiques, go to Ocean Beach (California).

Hi Katie,
In San Diego we have the Las Americas Premium Outlets and the Fashion Valley Mall. For me the best options for shopping here. =D

Fashion Valley Mall is San Diego's best mall. However, if you want to shop in small stores in a great neighborhood, head to La Jolla or Del Mar . In La Jolla the shops are concentrated on the streets bordered by Prospect St , Silverado St , and Ivanhoe Ave . In Del Mar you can go to Del Mar Plaza and visit the shops along Camino Del Mar . The added benefit is you can grab a bite to eat with an ocean view.

"Mid County North"
Fashion Valley Mall is probably the most complete shopping experience for all of today's latest fashions, Old Town San Diegohas some unique shopping, and La Jollais always nice and has high-end shops.
Downtown
Horton Plaza is probably a close second to Fashion Valley in terms of overall store offerings.
Seaport Village is right on the water and has many unique shops.
North County
There's a great mall in Del Mar called Del Mar Plaza which has some unique shops (and Del Mar is a great city itself with the Del Mar Polo Fields and one of my favorite restaurants The Poseidon Restaurant
Westfield Carlsbad is typical Westfield... pretty complete.
South/East
If you like the "Town Center" type of mall, the Otay Ranch Town Center is really nice.
Westfield Plaza Bonita another typical Westfield mall.
Cotton On Las Americas Premium Outlet Centre is right on the Tijuanaborder.
