Heading to San Antonio and I'm looking for the best restaurants to try while I'm visiting. Open to all types of food! What are your top places to eat?
For breakfast: The Guenther House Restaurant, Magnolia Pancake Haus, or Green Vegetarian Cuisine- they are all fantastic!
For lunch/dinner: Paloma Blanca Mexican Cuisine, The Big Bib, Mina & Dimi's Greek House, La Fonda On Main or Cappy's

The Southtown area has some great breakfast at a older place called the Guenther House Restaurant. You can always go for a walk around there. There's also good pizza at Stella Public House and gelato at South Alamode Panini & Gelato Company or check out some chic mexican/tex-mex with live music Rosario's Mexican Cafe Y Cantina, or some taco trucks Alamo Street Eat Bar. Kimura has some great rice bowls. Cured has some good drinks and pricey charcuterie.

There are a lot of really great answers here.
For the best overall experience, then I would go with 926 S Presa St. The food is amazing, and the service is outstanding. If it is cool enough to sit on the patio, then don't miss that opportunity!
For a fun relaxed vibe, check out the food trucks at Alamo Street Eat Bar. There are always several great options, and if there is a big game going on, it will be on the big screen.
For an authentic Mexican restaurant, check out family run Taqueria Datapoint, which started out as a food truck, but has grown into a sit down restaurant.

There are tons of great places to eat in SA. Recently Alton Brown visited one of my favorites Hot Joy! And if you want an authentic Tex-Mex experience nothing beats Me Terria at El Mercado Snack Bar!
All these places are local, Try them out!
Koi Kawa Japanese Restaurant Is my go to and absolute favorite. Japanese food at its best, its a hidden gem in the Broadway Boardwalk.
Green Vegetarian Cuisine They serve vegan/vegetarian meals that you can't find anywhere else in the city. Try the Eggplant Parmesan, you wont be disappointed.
Bakery Lorraine Is great for breakfast, freshly made pastries, bread, and coffee.
Pasha Mediterranean Grill serves up delicious mediterranean dishes. Naan comes with every meal and meats are cooked over an open flame for everyone to see.
Tito's has what i'd like to think is the best Mexican food in town. Tortillas made daily, grilled fajitas, and a good variety of enchiladas.
Armadillos Texas Style Burgers for all your burger needs, Texas Style
