Mi Tierra Cafe y Panaderia and La Margarita Mexican Restaurant & Oyster Bar in the Mercado are as authentic Tex-Mex as there is. MT has been operating for 60+ years and has become a local institution. La Margarita leans more to seafood with an outstanding oyster bar. If you're driving around, swing into Taco Cabana

If you want a quiet drink on the River Walk, by all means visit Omni La Mansion del Rio. I seem to recall they carried a nice selection of top shelf cognacs. Really old school San Antonio and steeped in romance.

I'm not a club person, but you're sure to find some spots on the river.

Hey, remember The Alamo.

For chic Mexican street food, try La Gloria at Pearl Brewery, or try any of the modern american restaurants at the pearl. Rosario's Mexican Cafe Y Cantina in Southtown features local bands. For lunch, try  Madhatters Tea House or get some breakfast in the King Williams district of San Antonio Guenther House Restaurant. And at night follow it with the taco trucks Alamo Street Eat Bar

If you're looking for dive bars, St Mary's street is full of places like Hi-Tones or Brass Monkey, or the fancier bar with the view, Paramour.
