We are arriving late into Salt Lake City and plan on driving north to Yellowstone through the west gate. Where would be a good place to stop for lunch on the way....restaurant suggestions? Thanks!!
Hi Lisa - I assume you're going to take I-15 north out of Salt Lake City, passing through Idaho on the way to West Yellowstone? There are a number of towns along the way that have good lunch spots -- Ogden and Brigham City have a lot of options -- but I like to stop in Malad City, Idaho, at a place called the Dude Ranch Cafe. It's a good old-fashioned small-town greasy-spoon. Great burgers, biscuits and gravy, and a footlong corn dog that has to be seen to be believed. It's in the old part of town, a short distance from the freeway and all the chain stuff that clusters around the off ramp.
