Heading to Sacramento and I'm looking for the best restaurants to try while I'm visiting. Open to all types of food! What are your top places to eat?

I lived in Sacramento for a little over two years and tried a lot of different places. It's a great place for all types of food. Here are some of my favorites:

Breakfast:
Orphan on 3rd and C is great for breakfast. They typically have a specialty type of pancake every day or so. Awesome scrambles as well.

Bacon & Butter in Tahoe Park has a bunch of twists on traditional American breakfast fare. Between B&B and Orphan you won't have a bad experience.

Lunch, Dinner & Drinks:

Ella Dining Room & Bar is one of the top restaurants in the city for fine dining. Fantastic food.

The Rind is a great place for wine and cheese. The best mac & cheese I've ever had bar none. Get the "Not your Mom's Mac" with prosciutto or try the Picante grilled cheese.

Aioli Bodega Espanola is an awesome Spanish tapas restaurant. On Friday and Saturday nights they have a Spanish guitarists playing live as well.

The Porch Restaurant and Bar for southern inspired food. Great for brunch and dinner.

Some other places to mention are Mulvaney's B&L, 58 Degrees & Holding Co.LowBrau (great place to get beers and enjoy the patio).

Dessert:

Devine Gelateria & Cafe is a great last stop if you have any room left. The owner is a classically trained and certified gelato maker and they don't disappoint!

Enjoy your trip! Sacramento is a great city that unfortunately doesn't get much credit.

Little Saigon Business District in South Sacramento has hundreds of Vietnamese, Chinese and Southeast Asian cuisine. Downtown Sacramento and Midtown Sacramento has hundreds of more choices. Try Seafood House Quan Oc in South Sacramento, Chasons Crab Stadium in Elk Grove, The Firehouse Restaurant in Old Sacramento, or Midtown's Cantina Alley. All great fun and delicious cuisine!
