Off the beaten path in Rome?

What are some 'Things to Do' in a day while in Rome in December? Are there any Christmas Markets? Great places to eat that won't break the back?

Hi Sandi!  I would for sure head to Trastevere, its a must see!  We had so much there when we were there.  We had some amazing carbonara and wine there, I can't recall the restaurant so sorry!  But some other places we loved were Da Enzo Al 29 Sas Di Di Felice Roberto & C. they are amazing!  We had the Matriciana and the Cacio e Pepe.  Both were delicious!  For dessert we had gelato, so good!  We also went to Pizzeria Luzzi, I remember this place well because we went there a lot!  The pizza is amazing but they also have pastas, I never tried the pasta.  Anywhere close to the Vatican, Pantheon, Colloseo, and main points of interest there are markets and fun shops.  I don't know if there is specifically a Christmas Market though.  Have a great time!
