Head to Tulsa for the Philbrook Museum of ArtGilcrease Museum and Buck Atom's Cosmic Curios on 66 on the historic Route 66. From there drive east to Bentonville, Arkansas, home of Walmart (which has invested heavily in the community, providing lots of entertainment options: It's also a mountain biking nexus, if you're into that sort of thing. From there it's a short drive to Eureka Springs, a charming Ozark resort town. A nice detour from there would be Hot Springs National Park, then on to Memphis (check out local festivals and music scene here), and Nashville (Grand Ole Opry). Then Knoxville and Asheville (all four of these cities have historic downtowns on major rivers with arts districts, museums, shopping and dining – check out the Biltmore Estate in Asheville if you've never been). Black Mountain has a nice little district with antique shops, etc. Have fun!
