Hi all,
I am travelling to Ljubljana on July 27, and the easiest and closest destination I have found for now to avoid a 23 h travel (I'm travelling from Riga, Latvia), is to go to Rijeka airport in Croatia. I checked the trains, and it seems I miss the first one at 11:30 as I only arrive at 12:00. And the second one arrives in Ljubljana only at midnight, which I would like to avoid.
Have some of you made the trip and maybe have some alternative suggestions of how to get to Ljubljana from Rijeka airport?

Sounds like you've found the train options.
There are also a few busses that are worth looking at that aren't quite as late:

Maybe try to find a ride in a facebook group 'Trazim prijevoz' - it's quite popular for spliting costs with somebody heading that way with an empty car. Just post the date and destinations and people respond.
Also hitchiking is not a bad idea considering it's end of July and Sunday so lots of tourists from Slovenia will be returning home. Those the alternatives for the train - btw train ride Ri-Lj is about 5 hours.
