Here are a list of my favorite restaurants and the reasons

Chuck's Burgers - Best hamburgers in town

Trophy Brewing - Great pizza and beer.

Poole's - Mac and cheese to die for. This restaurant has also won many awards.

Sullivan's Steakhouse - Best steak in town and everything else on the menu is delicious.

The Pit - Popular joint for southern BBQ.

Happy and Hale - Great lunch spot for healthy food.

Armadillo Grill - Best tacos in town.

calavera empanadas and tequila - Yummy empanadas and lots of tequila.

Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern - Pretty expensive but excellent food. I prefer the downstairs bar area to eat, since it is less formal.

Hope this helps!

My favorite place to eat is The Remedy Diner. I like the place because it has food for every type of diet preference, and they do it creatively. Your entree will be about $10, but something like the non-chicken buffalo wings are totally worth it. Try the groovy train and get some tasty vegan dessert there too!

Another favorite is Mitch's Tavern. There is a wide variety of food, and it is definitely cheaper. It's been around Raleigh for a while, has drink specials every night, and has an interesting comfortable cavey tavern sort of feel. If you're not going on a rainy night, the porch seating is also super fun. I would recommend the fried green tomato sandwich to eat there.
