New Years Eve in Quebec City

My good friend and I are heading to Quebec City for NYE, we are both male, in our early 30s (31 and 32). We like a good party, but nothing too over the top. Perhaps a place to ring in 2015 followed by a great bar or two with good music, a lively crowd and a good dance floor that's not pretentious. We have a hotel just outside the city center. We'll arrive on the 30th and leave the 2nd. Also, what are some good restaurants to check out?

Thank you!

Restaurant le Patriarche is fabulous if you want a really gourmet experience.  Le Café du Monde is good for something slightly more casual with a nice view.  Both require reservations if you want to get in.

I'm 42 and married, so can't help much with the bar scene.  I would try to reserve a table at L'Affaire est Ketchup for your "splurge" meal.  There are also plenty of places on Grande-Allée E and in Vieux-Québec that should be fun for a night of libations and such.  I would strongly recommend a lunch, perhaps to cure a raging hangover, or just because it's so damn good, at La Galette Libanaise.
