New York City

Anthony from New York City asked

How should I spend two days in both Budapest & Prague?

I was due to travel with friends but due to last minute changes this is looking less likely. I don't mind solo travel and plan to take a train between the two - arrive into Budapest on a Friday evening late August and fly out of Prague on a Tuesday evening.

Suggestions for SEE, EAT & DO welcome :)

Prague   Budapest

2 days is pretty short and Budapest is nice in Summer! I love Prague too! Solo travel is fine, you might want to check out the Ruined Pubs (Szimpla) in Budapest, Szentendre for 3 hours and Margaret Island. For Prague, I like the Old Town Square/Prague Castle area, Charles Bridge and check out the Astronomical Clock :) Have a great time Anthony!

I cant answer for Budapest, but Prague, the answer is Drunk. It is a great way to spend two days and an easy way.

In all seriousness, three places I love to visit when I go to Prague are

Pivovar U Fleků - traditional place and good pork knuckle

Pivovarský Klub - Great food and huge beer selection

U Zlatého tygra - Worth a stop in. Always busy and a lot of history

For sure check out Prague Castle Staroměstské náměstíVáclavské náměstí 846/1

It is a great place to spend a couple days

Can't talk much about Budapest but I have some good recommendations for Prague.

1) Use my guide to walking around Prague to see the main city centre and the big sights like the Charles Bridge. If you're only in town for a day or two, you may not have time to see the Prague Castle properly, but it is recommendable.

2)  if you're staying near the city centre, I would suggest Amade for dinner, or, if you're staying in Prague 2 somewhere, try Sahara
