I would recommend that you make a stop in Nazaré. Biggest waves in the world with the right wind direction. Old fishing tow that attracts surfers from all over the world these days. Nearby Obidos is one of the prettiest small towns in Portugal. Coimbra with the largest and oldest univeristy in Portgal is also well worth a stop.
