Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg

Best fun and food to find around Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg?

I am headed to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge for a week and looking for the most fun and best eating possible.  Budget is not really an issue but I am not trying to waste money either.

There is a lot of corporate food and overpriced novelty restaurants in the area.  It can be kinda hard to find the gems.  I suggest : The Old Mill Pottery House Café & Grille. (not the same as the Old Mill restaurant), Best Italian (the garlic knots are amazing), Smokies Cuban Cafe.

If you are in the mood for Burgers or wings, I would suggest Blue Moose.  The Smoky Mountain Brewery has excellent food along with handcrafted beer.  The pottery house cafe is excellent and so is the Local Goat if you are in the mood for farm to table.  The Cookie Dough Monster has amazing gourmet grilled cheese, burgers and milkshakes.  For breakfast there is The Pancake pantry in Gatlinburg.  Take cash (they don't accept cards) and an empty stomach.  The sweet potato pancakes are to die for.  For anything Italian, go to Best Italian in Gatlinburg. The garlic knots alone will send you into a dream state.  If you want Seafood, go to Bubba Gumps in Gatlinburg, or Harpoon Harry's in Pigeon Forge

Hi there. After years of traveling to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge , we always stay in a chalet. We do dine out, occasionally, but what we do MOST often now, is take our cooler, stop at one of the many groceries on our way in, and purchase our steaks, chops, and cold items. Our nonperishable items are already loaded in our vehicle !! Because, once we reach one of the beautiful chalet's, we never want to leave!! We typically use the same company and alway stay away from the "village type" cabins/chalets. We like unique. Sometimes I will call and ask if there are any "new" chalets on the mountain. lol We have never, ever been disappointed. We always pick an day to stroll through Gatlinburg to take advantage of the shops, watch the candy makers and smell the scents only Gatlinburg can produce! Another MUST is a trip to Pigeon Forge. For us, we stop on departure day. We stop at Five Oaks and visit our favorite stores and have lunch at one of the many eateries. Definitely, a tradition you will start without a doubt!! Have a magnificent time!
