Philippines for 3-4 months! Any tips and must sees for a family?

We are young family traveling to Philippines with two kids for the whole European winter :) (3-4 months)

What would be best tips - long stay issues (visa etc.), also what are the best family friendly places, maybe some good acommodation tips? We are planning to stay for ~1 month in one place and then to move along to the other. What is a must to see and what's the best plan for such long term trip?

If you decide to go to Cebu on your vacation, head South to Alegría,  you won't find this on the map its undiscovered Gem away from all the tourist traps

If you're into Canyoneering, hiking, visiting lagoons, snorkelling or diving and waterfalls this place you should put on your bucket list of place to visit on Cebu island.

Mainit Hot Springs

Kawasan Falls

Cambais Falls

if you're into diving and snorkelling that's the house reef of Alegria Dive Resort. The best thing about it is the sanctuary is right next door :)

Accommodation is pretty hard to find in Alegria.

From USA, I like to get 3 month visa from embassy/consulate, then extend for another 3+ months once there. Land Mactan-Cebu International Airport and adventure out from there. So many choices, allow serendipity in choosing the must see...

Mentioned in this answer:

  1. Mactan-Cebu International Airport (attraction)
