Hi Rob,

right now it's raining! July usually have a number of storms especially in Luzon & Visayas, both in the eastern parts (near the Pacific Ocean).

August, there are days & weeks in this month where the sun shines bright, its called Sol de Agosto.

If you still plan to go to the Philippines, you might want to consider Mindanao (Camiguin, Davao City, Samal) experience less rains than Luzon & Visayas. Palawan is great too!

The answer is, YES! There'll certainly be rain as it's the rainy season- it generally starts around the end of June. And yes, there'll be some good weather mixed in with the rainy weather. It's not likely to rain everywhere all the time.

For example, avoid Batanes as the weather there is so unpredictable that it'll be hard to even get a flight. On the plus side, all the tourist-related activities may be cheaper since it's the low travel season.

July and August are just the beginning of rainy season.  It rains often, but lots of sunshine in between.  Humidity is high, especially during this time. I'm heading into my 6th July/August here (in a row) and it's always the same.
