Rafael from Miami asked

Best way for 5 people to get from Paterson NJ to NYC to catch a hop on bus

We are a family of five staying in Paterson NJ and have a couple of days who wish to see some NYC sights but rather not have to deal with traffic and parking. We would probably do a hop-on-hop-off bus but don't know how to get to one of their stops in the city. We are going on 6/9-6/10.

To get into the city's from Paterson you should take a bus as it would be the least expensive way to go. NJTransit .com can give you fares and timetable.

And if you walk to Times Square from Port Authority Bus Terminal you will see bus operators everywhere for the red double decker or green buses. If you're not sure there is a big information office on Broadway and 42nd or 43rd they can help you. You may want to buy the city pass.

Rafael -- I'm not the best person to ask, but I know that there are lots of buses  (New Jersey Transit) that stop in downtown Paterson.  It's a bit of a hub.  A bus that takes you from Paterson to Hoboken or Jersey City  would be good. From there you could hop a Path Train.

And, come to think of it, I used to take a bus from Paterson to Montclair. There is now a train station in Montclair -- am sure you could get a train to New York City from Montclair.

Here's something:

I would honestly look into the subway in NYC! But this site could be helpful : https://www.newyorkpass.com/En/bus-tour-packages/?aid=16&gclid=CIWl5PmD9MUCFViUfgodnzQAsQ
