Romantic Paris Hotels, Suggestions

My fiancé and I are going to Paris for our honeymoon in June and we’ve never been there before. Obviously, we'd like some place great for our hotel--can anyone tell me the names of some romantic hotels there? Thanks.

Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris is one of the most luxurious hotels I have ever been too--their spa is seriously unlike any other I've been to. I agree with the Hotel Bristol. Also, the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme is great and so is the Hotel De Crillon. I can't say enough about the service at the Hôtel Plaza-Athénée -- their staff is incredible! And Hôtel Ritz is mahj!

Hôtel Le Bristol Paris. There is no more beautiful, romantic hotel in Paris. I’m sure you’ve seen the movie, “Midnight in Paris,” yes? The Bristol was the hotel Rachel McAdams and Owen Wilson stayed in and it’s even prettier in person than it was in the movie. The décor is very traditionally French so don’t expect cutting edge or modern. There’s an amazing spa there where I had the best massage of my life and the food in the restaurants is incredible if insanely expensive (I had a 40 euro sandwich here!!!).

If that doesn’t appeal to you or they’re booked, check out the Shangri-La Hotel, Paris. While it doesn’t have the same intimacy as the Bristol, it’s still totally out of this world as looks go and it has the feel of almost being away from the city somehow. It’s a little less aggressively French than the Bristol, but still very classic and very, very sophisticated. If you really, really don’t want to leave the hotel , they have a couple of beautiful restaurants there including my favorite,  La Bauhinia which serves a sort of French-Asian cuisine.

I know you didn’t ask for a restaurant recommendation, but nothing, I mean nothing beats Chez JulienChez Julien for romance. It’s been open since the 1700s or something like that and it’s one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever seen in my life and insanely romantic. It’s just off the Pont Louis Philippe at the bottom of one of my favorite streets in Paris, Rue des Barres, and when it gets dark outside and the lights are turned on in the restaurant it’s just incredibly beautiful. Also, you have to visit the Musée de la Vie Romantique while you’re there. I don’t know that I would say it’s one of my favorite museums, but it’s worth seeing just for the beauty of the house it’s in.

If I was going to bring my wife to Paris tomorrow, I would book a room at Hôtel Meurice. Each room there is as romantic and unique as the next. Perfect in the city of love.

Some of my other favorites in the city...

  • I've got to admit when it comes to hotels I'm a bit of a snob. I love a luxury hotel and the Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris in Paris far exceeds my expectations. The rooms are beautiful and decorated in Parisian style.

  • Hôtel de Sers are so bright and cheery you can't help but smile. The former 19th-century mansion was renovated into this fantastic hotel with breathtaking views of the city.
  • HOTEL DANIEL: Every item in every room in this hotel is unique. There will be so much to look at in your room, you'll forget you've got other sightseeing to do.
  • Hôtel Verneuil is at a great location with easy access to Parisian attractions. The hotel is in the heart of Paris near the Musée d'Orsay, The Louvre and the Café de Flore.

Check out the Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris. It's a classic hotel.

Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais is a good one if you want to stay in the Marais area.  This is a quirky little hotel in a great location (several great bars, cafes, restaurants within a few blocks). It could use a little bit of a makeover, but its clean and if you're interested in the Marais (which I think is one of the more enjoyable parts of Paris), its a very good choice.

Always for me, the most romance place in Paris is the Hôtel Plaza-Athénée

It's so beautiful, I love it. Beautiful garden there too.
