Looking for something with a bit more difficulty than the Trump National Ocean Trails with great scenery.
Palos Verdes Peninsula (California) Rancho Palos Verdes (California)
Hi Mike,
I grew up in PV. My favorite hike was Peacock Flats Trail at the end of Crenshaw Boulevard, it is a few mile hike with great views.
The other one I like is the trail that starts at the top of the
Abalone Cove Shoreline Park, just off of Palos Verdes Drive South, which heads up to the top of Inspiration Point, as well as down to the shore at Pirate's Cove
These hikes are not extremely challenging but they are beautiful.

The Del Cerro Park is a great place to start a hike. it has an amazing view of the coastline. You start at the top and work your way down the cliff and then you can either cross the road and continue to the beach or work your way up some other paths in the foothills. The path is pretty wide and easily accommodates hikers and mountain bikes.
We ended up starting at the trailheads by Del Cerro Park (at the top of Crenshaw) via Rattlesnake Trail and working our way down through Portuguese Bend Reserve.
Once we hit the bottom - at approximately PV Drive South - we worked our way back up and ultimately reached the top via Burma Road Trail at the end with just a short walk back to the car.
It was an absolutely beautiful hike with views of Catalina straight out, Terranea to the north, and Trump National to the south. The hike back up can be a bit strenuous, especially in the sun but we really enjoyed it.
We headed down to Nelson's at Terranea Resort for a much deserved bite to eat and celebratory drink following.
