Once you leave Sicily, you'll be driving through a very poor part of Italy for a good while.  Just skip through that section until you're further north.

There is a lovely romantic small hotel between Maratea and Sapri . It is the villa cheta elite. That would be a pleasant stop for a day or two.

A little further north is Paestumwhich was an important Greek settlement before Rome got well established. That would be a great place to take a break from driving and spend several hours. Search for Paestum on YouTube to check it out.

When you get to Salerno, turn left and take the coastal road to Sorrento. This will take you along the Amalfi Coast which is one of the most scenic drives in Europe. RavelloAmalfi, Positano, and Sorrento are all must see stops along the way.

You can then finish your journey by taking the faster road from Sorrento to Naples, but you might want to just cancel Naples and spend more time in Sorrento, it is that nice.

The archaeological sites of Herculaneum and Pompei are just off the road between Sorrento and Naples.
