Overnight stay along I-5 from Oakland to LA

I'm looking for recommendations for a good place to stay overnight with a toddler on my way down to Disneyland from Oakland. We don't want wanna stay in a cheap hotel but also don't wanna spend a lot. A place with a restaurant and an attraction would be nice

I-5 is really not that interesting of a drive... I don't have any personal recommendations along that route, but possibly one of the Best Western's near Bakersfield?  You'd have to check on their reviews, etc.

Since you're planning an overnight, perhaps you'd want to consider taking the 101 instead. It would only add 2 hours to the drive, but would take you through much nicer scenery through wine country and along the Pacific coast. Perhaps then consider staying in Pismo Beach, or the wine country around Los Olivos, Buellton, Solvang (touristy Danish village), or Santa Barbara. In any case there would be a lot more interesting things to see and do along the way. If you had a lot of time (at least 2 days), taking Hwy 1 south from Monterey would be even better.
