I appreciate any thoughts you have on the trip.  I've never been to the Pacific Northwest before.  I've been planning it for about 2 years and think I have done a good job.  Hopefully, you agree.

Can you drive past all these areas?  Yes.  Do you have much time to get out of the car? No, these are large distances.  I would cut your itinerary in half and spend more time at these places.  Rainier, are you going to get out and hike even a little?  Astoria, that is at least a half day.  Why not fish there rather than fight traffic driving through Seattle to get to anacortes?  I'd focus on Rainier/Puget Sound/Olympic Peninsula or Oregon Coast Highway/Redwoods National Park ASBS State Water Quality Protection Area or Northern CaliforniaCoast/Redwoods.

You have no doubt put a lot of thought into this. Do your kids get to dig in the sand in FL, & so it's not included here? That's all our boys wanted to do on numerous trips to the beach growing up. Or, build a fort with drift wood. Waldport is north of Florence & is never crowded. Vickie's burger Drive in there was much more favored by our kids than Mo's.

Newport (north of Waldport) has an excellent aquarium. If you must go to MO's, go to the original in Newport. Rogue Brewery on the Bay front has a family dining room with killer views of the Yaquina Bay Bridge. Buy a kite at a local kite shop & teach them how to fly it on the beach if they've never done it. Even more north is Cape Perpetua. Even if you don't hike, the views from up there are unparalleled.

Have fun enjoying our beautiful beaches!
