Avery from Berkeley asked

Kid friendly things to do in Omaha?

Spending a week in Omaha with my kids (ages 5-10) and was wondering what the best kid activities are around town? My kids aren't too picky and I would love to hear any and all suggestions you might have!

Hello Avery!

The Henry Doorly Zoo as others have stated is always a great treat! Depending on when you're here you might want to check out University of Nebraska Omaha and Creighton University for any sporting events! There is also our minor league baseball team called the Stormchasers who play at Werner Park just south of Omaha.

We have $5 movies on Tuesdays and Thursdays at The Marcus Twin Creek Cinema , but any other Marcus theater in town does the same! Spielbound is a coffee shop/bar that lets you play unlimited board games for $5! They have so many to choose from that it's not hard to stay for a while! You just have to make sure to get there early because they do fill up.

Avery,

welcome to Omaha! We moved here from Danville 17 years ago, our kiddos are all Cali kids but we wouldn't have changed moving for anything! the museums here The Durham Museum has a great kid oriented exhibit going on and the kids always love the trains! Being the event coordinator makes me a little skewed 😊 but my kids all did! There is also an art museum Joslyn Art Museum that is very nice! If it's nice out and not as hot and muggly as it has been try the Lauritzen Gardens they have some lovely displays throughout the gardens. Try the children's museum Omaha Children's Museum for some tractor fun! The zoo is a standout! Absolutely a must see! If you get downtown by the TD Ameritrade Park Omaha around the corner is a Zesto that has a fabulous ice cream cone for dirt cheap! And the Blatt Beer & Table North Downtown is right next door and has a yummy menu! Enjoy the small town big town!
