Best free things to do in Oakland?

I'm going to be in Oakland next month and will be on a pretty tight budget. I'm looking for the best free and inexpensive things to check out! I love the outdoors, art, museums, you name it. Thanks!

Have a picnic at the top of Mountain View Cemetery

Berkeley is worth checking out by foot.

The Jack London Square farmer's market is one of the best Bay Area markets I've been too. It's smaller, but great produce for generally super cheap.

Walk around Lake Merritt. It's beautiful! I think it might be about 3 miles total.

Try first Art Murmur art & music on the first Friday night of each month.  Streets are closed, galleries are open, bars and restaurants are packed, band play on the street.  Also, every Friday night at Oakland Museum of California, there is live music, exhibits, games, (along with sale of beer/wine and food trucks).  http://museumca.org/friday-nights-omca

Walk around Lake Merritt in the sunshine and stop for a drink on the dock behind Lake Chalet at sunset, watching the gondolas glide along the lake.  Enjoy the Art Murmur art crawl in downtown Oakland on the first Friday of each month, enjoying our local culture and local artists along a long section of galleries, all free with lots of low-priced yummy food trucks.  Show up for the Saturday morning farmer's market at Grand Lake to people watch and hear live music.
