Anyone know a route to take to see the many waterfalls of upstate new york
It depends on where you start. I'd lived in Syracuse (New York), so naturally, I would start from Syracuse and make my way down to Chittenango Falls State Park (about 30 minutes drive) and Buttermilk Falls State Park (about 2 hours from Chittenango).
After Buttermilk, I'll take the 30-minute drive to Taughannock Falls State Park , then to Watkins Glen State Park (30 minutes drive). Next is to the mighty Niagara Falls, which is about a 3-hour drive from Watkins Glen.
Before returning to Syracuse, I'll stop at High Falls near Rochester and around two hours drive from Niagara Falls.

One of my favourite is High Falls Gorgeoff Rte 86, near Lake Placidand Saranac Lake; however, there are not many other easily accessible ones nearby, unless you are hiking in the Adirondacks. The best concentration is around Ithica and the Finger Lakes. Rte 13 might be best; it will take you past Robert H Treman State Park, Gorge Road , Buttermilk Falls State Parkand Ithaca Falls. Nearby you also have Taughannock Falls State Park.
