Smalls Jazz Club, Terra blues (more for blues obviously but still a great place) & Cafe Carlyle on Monday nights (Bemelmans Bar for nightly jazz and general incredible scenery) & Metropolis (downstairs from Blue Water Grill).

The The Django at the Tribeca Grand Hotel is a small (seats 120) jazz club. Amazing place. Located underground and recently built in a style that makes you feel like you have found a place in Paris in the 1950's. The music is awesome. Great variety of live jazz groups of many types. And the cocktails are killer.

Mezzrow Jazz Club is the hippest; Smalls is across the street and just as cool.  Up 7th Ave South is the Village Vanguard.  These three are "the shit."
