I know everyone has an opinion. Going to NYC is awesome but often overwhelming when it comes to picking places to eat. What are you 3 go-to's? Don't have to be fancy!
For breakfast (or lunch) I'd recommend Russ & DaughtersEvery conceivable bagel topping is available, including a dozen varieties of caviar and roe. Don't fall into the trap of eating a gargantuan and elaborate "brunch" as this is New York, and you will be walking. A lot.
For lunch, head down to Pisillo Italian Panini for a Milano: Salami, smoked mozzarella, artichokes and roasted red peppers.. My friends and I call this "the sandwich" because it's the only one that matters. The dressing and bread are perfect and they make the mozzarella in house, meats are shipped over from Italy. This is the best Italian hero in the city. Heads up: it's cash only.
For a snack or to satiate a sweet tooth, stop by Takahachi Tribeca and pick up some macarons, honey ginger is my personal favorite, green tea is the most popular. For a savory snack, check out Despaña Fine Foods and Tapas Cafe.
Casa Mono would be my choice for dinner, but make sure to get a reservation in advance. They were just put back in the Michelin guide, so expect a crowd if you don't plan ahead.
For a late night/post drinking meal, my go-to are the short rib pierogis at Veselka.

Totonno Pizzeria Napolitanais way out in Brooklyn but it's one of the oldest pizzeria's in the city and one of my favorites. Plus the random Coney Island location adds something to the experience.
Traifhas creative, modern food served tapas style.
Eatalyis an Italian store with a massive NYC location meant to resemble an Italian piazza. There are numerous restaurants inside along with any Italian ingredient you can imagine.
