My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and he's really just gotten into the blues. We live in Brooklyn and have a car, so we're not restricted to the city. Anything within a 50 mile radius would be appreciated.
One of the best places to catch a live blues show would be B.B. King Blues Club & Grill which is located at 237 W 42nd St. New York, NY. It has long since been on the best places to see some of the best blues musicians live and up close.
Every year they venus host an 'All Stars' event which is packed with the countries greatest blues guys and gals who perform before a packed house.
Hope this helps!
Blue Hill At Stone Barns is an awesome day trip/meal. It's not cheap but the food is incredible and it's a really nice day to drive up to the Hudson valley, walk through the farm, then have/lunch dinner.
we have stayed a couple times (including when we got engaged) at the c/o The Maidstone in East Hampton it's small (15 rooms I think) but has great vibe. Each room has its own decor/theme. Restaurant is really good. and The Hamptons are really nice in the off season when it isn't such a scene.
