Abby from Corona del Mar, California asked

What to do in NYC on a mother- daughter trip in September?

I am going on a mother-daughter trip to NYC mid September. We are avid foodies. Any must-see, must-eat recommendations?

Hi Abbey. So much good food here, so I'll steer you towards the food that's unique to NYC. I would do one of the Smorgasburgs on the weekend, Eataly, I concur with anything Momofuku ( as a sugar lover I'm obsessed with Momofuku Milk Bar), a lobster roll from Mary's Fish Camp or Ed's, Prune for a breakfast or brunch that will curl your toes, a lunch at Fred's inside Barney's just for the scene, doughnuts from Dough (also at Smorgasburgs) that prove there is a God, coffee from LaColombe, Little Owl, Bar Pitti. For pizza, head to Brooklyn for Lucali or Franny's--the two best. And don't let ANYBODY convince you to eat BBQ, Mexican (except ABC Cocina) or hot dogs. Now you'll have to excuse me while I loosen my belt.

Hi Abby! Not sure how old your daughter is however I can tell you that I have spent the most unforgettable vacations in New York City with my daughter. Manhattan offers a lot of gastronomy options, Times Square Little Italy, High Line Park, Meatpacking District, Flatiron District,Gramercy Park, Chelsea Market, etc., are excellent examples of areas in NYC that offers outstanding gastronomy. Let me give some names of places that I recommend (even though not all of them are fancy options but I am sure you daughter will love the variety: Shake Shack, Le Pain Quotidien,  ABC Kitchen, Eataly, Gramercy Tavern, The Spotted Pig, Grimaldi's, Maison, Cafe Sorrento, Fresh & Co., The River Café, Maialino and Craft.

Hope this helps!
