My daughter (22) and I are coming to New York the last week in September. We are trying to decide between a Saturday to Wednesday trip or a Monday to Friday trip. Do the crowds at the tourist spots vary much between weekend and weekday?
TIA
Tourist places are crowded no matter when, but it is easier to get show tickets at the TKTS Times Squarebooth during the week rather than the weekend. Museums will also be slightly less crowded and restaurant reservations are easier mid week
Streets and traffic are horrendous no matter when. Use the subways if u can try to be seated at a nice bar during rush hour
On the contrary, I always prefer to stay in NYC over the weekends as there is so much fun, there are plenty of activities, and there is much more atmosphere on weekends. However, be sure that the Big Apple is a city that enriches you with art and entertainment regardless of the date.
Hope this helps
New York Cityis pretty busy everyday. I would say it depends on what you want to see and do. If you want to see a broadway show, mid week is easier to get discounts tickets. Museums are definitely less crowded during the week. Some venues are closed on certain days though. Figure out what your must see/do items are and it will be easier to pick the best days to visit are.
Definitely go during the week, especially if you plan on visiting any museums.
