I like to give free suggestions!  Go for a walk:

1. from Grand Central Terminal - Public Library-Times Square-and perhaps Empire State Building Observation Deck.

2. Downtown - Walk on the Brooklyn Bridge

3. Go for a Ride on the Staten Island Ferry (you can practically kiss the Statue of Liberty without spending a day and a fortune to get there)

4.  While downtown, go see the new Freedom Tower and where the WTC once stood

5.  Central Park, Central Park, Central Park

6. High Line Park

7. Shop?

Central Park , its huge, beautiful and just walking around you'll see a lot of nice sites in the city. It's also nice to get away from the crowds in midtown.
