I've finally convinced my parents to try sushi so I want to make sure they have a great first experience. I'd like to find a moderately priced restaurant somewhere in the Flatiron district--preferably a place where we can just get a couple of pieces to go rather than a place where they'll have to sit down for a whole meal since I'm not sure if they'll like it. Suggestions about what to order are welcome as I'm not terribly savvy about sushi myself. Thanks so much!
For moderately priced sushi, there are a few places in Midtown that I love for different reasons:
Kodama Sushi is traditional Japanese in the middle of Times Square, and yet, mostly locals (in particular Broadway performers) go there.
Natsumi is where I go for "Sexy Sushi." Modern vibe with traditional menu. Good bar scene on the weekend too.
While Sushi of Gari 46 has a VERY expensive tasting menu, their rolls aren't too expensive (by NYC standards)
