Peter Luger Steak House in Brooklyn. Steaks are life changing, and GET THE BACON. The bacon is so good.

Thank you :) Usually I am not into bacon because they cook it too much and it is too dry. How is it in PLSH?

YOU MUST go to Brooklyn and eat at St. Anselm If you want something fancier, check out Wolfgang's Steakhouse TriBeca or the overpriced Del Frisco's Steakhouse is really great.

I haven't been to a ton of steakhouses in the city, but out of the ones I have been to, I would recommend Old Homestead Steak House and Maloney & Porcelli though both would definitely qualify as $$$. Peter Lugers isn't what it's cracked up to be...actually quite disappointing in my opinion!

Del Frisco's Steakhouse - great views of the city including Radio City, great food and service and great celebrity spotting.

Old Homestead Steak House, old school and excellent.  Full of character too - they even have a large cow statue/figure on the awning of the building.  I noticed the pricing as $/$$, I apologize for recommending a place that is not low cost, but you're not going to find a place worth going to for low prices, especially in NYC.  Steakhouses are considered splurges, special occasion places, etc.  The price range for those worth going to is more like "expensive - VERY expensive - a mortgage payment!"  Rest assured there are tons of very affordable delicacies in NYC, but a good steakhouse is going to be pricey.

Quality Meats and Maloney & Porcelli are my two favorite steaks in New York and I've eaten a LOT of steak. These are a bit pricey.

If you'd like something on the cheap side, Le Relais De Venise L'Entrecote is the top spot. Beware though, there's only one item on the menu. Steak. It comes with a salad and fries though.

Avoid Peter Luger Steak House, it's an overrated tourist trap.

So funny because in Geneva (Switzerland) where I live, one of the best meat restaurant is called "Le Relais de l'Entrecôte". The meat is so good and their secret sauce so famous. You don't have a menu. Only 2 servings of meat. You choose how you want the meat to be cooked and you have a salad before and then 2 servings of meat with homemade french fries. If you go to Geneva you have to try it :) Their desserts are to die for as well...
