We will be driving through NYC on our way to Maine. We want to be able to see some of the skyline (ie skyscrapers) without getting TOO FAR into NYC traffic. What is the best way to do this?
Assuming you'll be traveling on I-95, get off at US Rt. 9 north and head to Jersey City. There are great views of downtown Manhattan (World Trade Center) in JC. Go north to Weehauken for views of mid-town (Empire State Building). US9 will take you back to I-95 and the George Washington Bridge.
