48 Hours in NYC - I NEED to know the best Pizza spots!

I have set myself a target of eating at as many amazing Pizza places in New York within the 48 hours I am there. I think I have the stomach for around 12-15 slices in that amount of time.

I WANT to know what pizza place is your favourite so I can add it to my map.

New York City (New York)

Skip Grimaldi's Pizzeria the original owner runs Juliana's Pizza next door and it is amazing.

The best in the city IMHO is Motorino but it's not easy to get in. No reservations either, but their soppressata is amazing and the crust is just perfect. On a lower level but still good, there's John's Pizzeria with a coal oven, Joe's Pizza for a slice, Artichoke Basille's Pizza for strange but compelling Artichoke slices (like artichoke dip on a pizza crust), and Grimaldi's (a couple locations).  I'm sure some people will send you to Brooklyn but you said NYC.

Emily in Brooklyn is amazing but be prepared to wait.  Also, Roberta'sis a must, also in Brooklyn. Rubirosa Ristorantein Little Italy is really good too and is the typical NYC large pie as opposed to the two above which are more gourmet small pies.

L&B Spumoni Gardens at the Barclays Centeris the best square slice ever!! Saraghina in Bed Stuy and Keste Pizza & Vino on Bleecker St  are great Neopolitan style pizzas. Joes on 6th ave is the best basic slice. Once  upon a time in the old Motorino (overrated) space there was a spot called Una Pizza Napoletana and that was THE best pizza (outside of Naples) that I've ever had. They are in SF now so if you ever head out there...... :)

You MUST go to Artichoke Basille's Pizza & Brewery  111 McDougal ave. in Manhattan. Open @11. It's a whole in the wall but they make the most amazing, out of the ordinary pizza. Our favorite is their signature Artichoke pizza, followed by Vodka pizza and the crab pizza. Only a few stools to sit inside, must people eat it outside on a nice day!

Have a look at Francisco Balagtas' Instagram for some spots. Based on a bet that he could eat pizza everyday, he's on a mission to eat at every dollar pizza joint in the city. https://www.instagram.com/dollarpizzaslicenyc/.

He rates each slice on a scale of 1-5 for the Cheese, Sauce and Crust and gives a pic, a short write-up and a recommendation on each.

Buon appetito!

L'asso on Mott St. in Nolita is the best place most people have never heard of.  Fun with outstanding pizza and creative choices too.

Enjoy.

Hands down best pizza is the square pepperoni slice at Prince Street in Nolita. And the artichoke slice (it tastes like artichoke dip!) at any Artichoke Basille's Pizza & Brewery. You're welcome.

Hey Phil! Ooooh that's a very good task you've set yourself! You'd probably find this map that NYC_Food created really helpful: www.bobbypin.co/p/4qxvk. Out of those my personal faves are Farinella and Motorino
