Where's the best place to try a snowball?

I've been hearing about these snowballs for forever and have seemed them featured on food shows, so where's the best place to get one?!

Hansen's Sno-Bliz has got to be the most popular one! It was featured on Duff Goldman's show and it also touts to have built the perfect snowball machine back in the '30s. After that, Pandora's and Plum Street Snoballs are two local favorites.

Other good spots for snowballs are Rodney's Snowball Stand, SnoWizard Snoball Shoppe and Van's Snowballs.

You should bear in mind, though, that snowballs are seasonal treats in New Orleans, so these places likely open some time in the spring and close by the end of summer through winter till next spring. Make sure to check their websites or call.

Just in case you happen to go in an off-month, here are some places that, while they don't specialize in and are not known for their snowballs, still serve them if you want to try them (though I'd give them a call before heading there just for it, too):

    • Corner Muse (according to their website, snowballs available year-round!)
    • Lemonade Parade
    • Tee Eva's Famous Old Fashioned Pies & Pralines
    • Beaucoup Juice
    • Honeydeux

That's very good to know about it being seasonal. Good thing I'm coming in the summer! Thanks so much! · (1 likelikes)

For sure! Would hate for you to show up there in the winter time only to find that they're closed :P · (1 likelikes)
